Paul S. Lei, MD

Dr. Lei opened South Summit Pediatrics in 2007.  He has lived in Utah most of his life but moved to Draper in 2007.  He attended medical school at the University of Utah.  He completed residency in Pediatrics at the University of Utah/Primary Children’s Medical Center.  He completed additional training (fellowship) in Pediatric Pulmonology and Newborn ICU at The University of Colorado/The Children’s Hospital in Denver.  He is board certified in Pediatrics. Dr. Lei lives in Draper with his wife and two children.  He loves spending time traveling with his family and staying active. Dr. Lei cares for all pediatric patients and has particular interest in Newborn care, pediatric lung problems including asthma and allergies. 

 

Cathy Johnson, C-PNP

Cathy Johnson joined South Summit Pediatrics in 2008.  She received her Bachelor’s in Nursing from the University of Utah in 1989. She received her Masters in Nursing in 2002 and is board certified as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. She was employed by the University of Utah, Dept of Dermatology from 2002- 2008 where she saw pediatric dermatology patients at University as well as Primary Children’s outpatient clinics.  She holds an adjunct faculty position with the University of Utah, College of Nursing and is a member of the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners. Cathy is a native Californian who has made Utah her home since 1985.  She enjoys spending time with her family camping, golfing,  bike riding, and relaxing. Cathy is available to see patients of all ages and conditions.  She is a specialist in Dermatology and is an Accutane provider.  She also has first hand experience in Autism raising her eldest son with the disorder. 

 

Rich Greenberg, MD

Dr. Greenberg joined South Summit Pediatrics in 2009.  He grew up in California but has lived in Utah since 2005.  He attended medical school at the University of California, Davis.  He completed residency in pediatrics as the University of Utah/Primary Children’s Medical Center.  He completed additional training (fellowship) in pediatric emergency medicine at The University of Colorado/The Children’s Hospital in Denver.  He is board certified in both pediatrics and pediatric emergency medicine.  Dr. Greenberg worked as a pediatric ER physician at Primary Children’s Medical Center from 2005-2014.  Dr. Greenberg lives in Salt Lake with his wife and three children.  He loves spending time with his children, baking, and is an avid marathon runner. Dr. Greenberg cares for all pediatric patients and has particular interest in injury prevention, pediatric nutrition, and pediatric emergencies (illness and injury). 

Kyleen Carpenter, MD


Dr. Kyleen Carpenter grew up in Missouri and studied medicine at St. Louis University School of Medicine. She attended residency in Pediatrics at the University of Utah/Primary Children's Hospital. Dr. Carpenter joined South Summit Pediatrics in fall of 2015. She cares for all children and adolescent patients with an interest in genetics. She has lived in Draper since 2012 with her husband, and has since welcomed a daughter into her family! She also enjoys dancing, the aerial arts, and fitness.

Katie Behunin, DO

 

Dr. Katie Behunin grew up in Utah and studied medicine at A. T. Still University in Missouri. She attended residency at he University of Iowa. After residency she stayed on as pediatric staff at the University of Iowa. Dr. Behunin joined South Summit Pediatrics in fall of 2017. She cares for all children and adolescent patients. She lives with her husband and her 3 young children. She also enjoys running, sewing, traveling, and snowboarding. She is happy to be back in Utah and close to family.

Ronald Nemeyer, md

Dr. Ronald Nemeyer grew up in Jacksonville, Florida. He attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he received his undergraduate and medical degrees. He moved to Utah when he began residency at the University of Utah/Primary Children’s Hospital and then joined South Summit Pediatrics in Fall 2020. He cares for all children and adolescents. Dr. Nemeyer has a particular interest in infectious disease and quality improvement in the medical setting. He lives in Salt Lake City, and is a proud uncle to six nieces and nephews. He spends his free time running, gardening, or on long backpacking trips in the deserts and mountains. Coming from Florida, he skis poorly, but still loves the snow.


Jordan Frei, MD


Dr. Jordan Frei grew up in St. George, UT before moving to Salt Lake City to attend the University of Utah for his undergraduate degree. He attended University of Texas Health San Antonio Medical School, then moved to Portland, Oregon to complete his residency in Pediatrics. He joined South Summit Pediatrics in 2021 and is excited to be back with his family, especially his many nieces and nephews. He enjoys running, hiking and climbing. He cares for all children and adolescents, and has a special interest in caring for LGBTQ+ youth.
